WATCH: South African born eleven-year-old drummer has dream come true

Durban born Nandi Bushell

At the tender age of 11, a Durban-born youngster now living in Ipswich, England, has had her dream of playing with her musical hero David Grohl come true.

Nandi Bushell got to perform live on stage with the Foo Fighters at their concert in California, describing it as "epic".

An unforgettable memory made, Nandi posted a video of her performance on Twitter, saying: "It happened!!! It was #EPIC!!! Thank you so much @foofighters!!! I had the best night ever jamming with you at @The Forum!"

Take a look at Nandi playing along with the band on the 1997 hit Everlong.

According to Sky News her dream was realized after she challenged Grohl to an online "drum-off" from her home in Suffolk during the height of the COVID pandemic. When he first asked Nandi to perform together, he told her she would have to appear at the end of the set "because you're going to steal the show". And that she did!

Bushell was born in Durban and is of Zulu descent, her family moved shortly thereafter to Ipswich in the United Kingdom where she currently lives with her parents John and Lungile, and her younger brother.

Nandi has become an internet sensation since posting videos of herself drumming to a range of songs from a host of different artists.
