In a rare joint outing, the Duchess of Edinburgh joined a solo Prince William to attend the private screening of South Africa’s RHINO MAN in South-West London Tuesday evening.
The 58-year-old royal, Sophie Wessex, took advantage of the warm weather being experienced in London, wearing a R30 000 floral sleeveless ankle-length dress by Erdem, her nephew looking suitably dapper in a slim-fitting navy suit. Sophie is married to Prince William’s uncle – Edward.
The two were all smiles as they alighted from a black 4x4 at the Battersea Power Station, a newly renovated shopping center with a cinema that played host to the screening.
The Prince took to social media to mark the occasion by posting a clip and writing: “This evening’s screening of #RHINOMAN provided a stark reminder of how wildlife rangers are putting their lives on the line every day in the critical fight to #endwildlifecrime. It is work that @unitedforwildlife plays a crucial part in - disrupting this transnational organised crime and making it impossible for traffickers to transport, finance or profit from illegal wildlife products”.
Several South Africans at the forefront of the fight against rhino poaching, and who are featured in the movie, were in attendance including Orlat Ndlovu, the Head of Ranger Services at Timbivati Private Game Reserve. He can be seen in the clip below with fellow colleagues together with Prince William and the Duchess of Edinburgh.
