Port Elizabeth based duo Brendon Peel and Li Lau were lucky enough to get their audition for Britain’s Got Talent in the bag before lockdown began – it was an audition that had the audience and judges on the edge of their seats.
Taking to Facebook Peel wrote: “What a crazy and amazing experience. People are saying that our act is the most dangerous act ever seen on Britain's Got Talent.”
The talented duo auditioned for BGT in January this year but the clip only made it to the official Britain’s Got Talent YouTube channel yesterday. For their audition, Brendon, a magician and mentalist, and Li, an escape artist, performed an act which drew on both these skills.
Without giving too much away, their act starts with Li handcuffed to a chair, trying to pick the locks to set himself free…..Brendon is on the other end of a contraption that has a crossbow aimed directly at Li's head……cue suspenseful music…if Brendon does not “play his cards right”, the arrow will hit Li directly in the head…..press play on the link below to find out what happens next!
To wrap, twenty-eight-year-old Peel was recently nominated for the African Business Excellence Award by the international MEA Markets business magazine for his creative input in the African business spectrum through his work as an illusionist.
Not bad for someone who started out in the entertainment business by performing magic tricks for patrons at Spur about 15 years ago.
