The Lord of The Rings director, Peter Jackson, has lovingly restored more than 50 hours of outtakes from the 1970 Beatles documentary ‘Let It Be’. Called Get Back, the documentary sheds new light on the relationship between Paul McCartney and John Lennon before the band finally split in 1970.
Warner Brothers says of the series: “Made entirely from never-before-seen, restored footage, it provides the most intimate and honest glimpse into the creative process and relationship between John, Paul, George, and Ringo ever filmed”.
“Jackson is the only person in 50 years to have been given access to this Beatles treasure trove, all of which has now been brilliantly restored’.
The docuseries is compiled from nearly 60 hours of unseen footage shot over 21 days in 1969, and from more than 150 hours of unheard audio, most of which has been locked in a vault for over half a century. It’s in three parts and almost seven hours long and you can find it on Disney+.
