South Africa’s Nomzamo Mbatha proved her star status yet again Sunday night as she shared the stage with Prince Harry as one of the presenters of the Global Citizen Vax Live Concert 2021.
In April she announced on Instagram that she was to be a host at the star-studded event saying, “The news is out, we are hosting the biggest reunion concert. I will be joining the @glblctzn #VaxLive concert to amplify the message on VACCINE EQUITY. I’m calling on BUSINESS to donate FUNDS for the acquisition of doses, G7 GOVERNMENTS to share EXCESS doses, and for PHARMA companies to make vaccines available at NOT FOR PROFIT prices!”
The Prince and Mbatha were among many high-profile celebrities including Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, and Selena Gomez who entertained a packed So-Fi Stadium in Inglewood for the taping of the Global Citizen Concert. Strict covid protocols were observed with all the concert-goers having to prove that they had been fully vaccinated against the virus before being granted a seat.
Nomzamo is no stranger to philanthropic work, with the public’s support, she raised R149m in collaboration with the CottonOn Foundation for the most vulnerable and marginalized in our society.
Mzamo retweeted the short clip of herself onstage with the Prince, it was his first public appearance since attending the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip.
