On the 31st of August, 25 years ago, Princess Diana died in a car accident, there are still many unanswered questions surrounding the tragedy. In this new Channel 4 documentary series ‘Investigating Diana: Death In Paris’, detectives from the 1997 French Brigade Criminelle delve into the case's “truths, lies, and conspiracies.”
Lady Diana was killed in the early hours of 31 August 1997, a year after her divorce from Prince Charles. At the time, the Mercedes Diana was a passenger in was being chased by the paparazzi after she had left the Ritz Hotel in Paris, together with her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed, the son of Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed.
The car crashed in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel killing Lady Di, Fayed, and the vehicle's driver Henri Paul, bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones survived.
