Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, the four-part documentary series on the life of American financier and convicted sex offender premieres on Netflix May 27.
It is the sordid tale of a powerful billionaire and his perverse sexual appetite for young girls, an appetite so out of control, that it eventually led to his downfall. According to The Sun the series reveals the shocking details of how Epstein is said to have imported three 12-year-old girls after purchasing them from their parents. It also tells of how he ran a 'sexual abuse pyramid scheme' that saw him encourage his young victims to recruit more girls into his paedophile ring.
Other shocking details that emerge from the series come via Steve Scully, a former worker on Epstein's Caribbean island of Little Saint James. The 70-year-old Sculley claims that he saw former President Bill Clinton sitting with Epstein at the island's villa. It must be said that the documentary does not ever suggest that Clinton was involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking ring. Clinton has vehemently denied that he was ever there but has in the past confessed to taking trips on several occasions in Epstein’s private jet.
Production on the documentary series had been underway for nearly nine months before Epstein’s arrest in July 2019. Then in August of that year, Epstein died in an apparent suicide while in a federal jail in Manhattan.
For the victims and survivors of Epstein’s abuse, it must have been a huge blow to accept the fact that they would never see him go to trial for his heinous crimes – this documentary series at least gives them a voice and will hopefully have served as something of a cathartic process in their journey to finding healing.
