Soshanguve born Brian Temba, the musician and actor most well known in South Africa for his role as Ranthumeng Mokoena in the soap opera Muvhango , has shared his shock over having tested positive for the coronavirus.
He took to social media to share his emotions about the diagnosis saying that people close to him have already succumbed to the disease.
As lockdown restrictions have eased across South Africa, there has been a huge surge in infections, Temba is warning his followers to remain vigilant as South Africa heads into what many are calling the ‘eye of the storm’.
Temba says in his post, “Sometimes we take things for granted and think some of the bad things that happen in the world would not affect us until it’s on your doorstep. A few days ago I tested positive for Covid-19 when I thought it would be something that wouldn’t get close to me.”
He goes on to say that news of an industry friend who died after contracting the coronavirus, had made him fearful that he might also become infected.
However, Brian also quotes the Bible and affirmed his belief in the promise of the Word of God that 'no weapon formed against me shall prosper'.
He affirmed his love for his family and the desire to beat the disease, “I have a family I love, so I have to beat this. I’m on the mend as we speak and will come out victorious. Please stay safe.”
In the clip attached to the post, Brian said he was feeling relatively okay and was hopeful he would recover fully.

We wish you a speedy recovery Brian.
