Demi Lovato has revealed that her 2018 drug overdose left her minutes from death, led to three strokes, a heart attack and brain damage.
Speaking ahead of the launch of the trailer to her new documentary, Dancing with the Devil, Lovato said that there is still so much the public does not know about the tragic incident that almost cost her her life.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight the 28-year-old star said: "I had three strokes. I had a heart attack. My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes. For the past couple of years, I've heard a lot of stories about my life and what people think has happened. I wanted to set the record straight and reveal it all for my fans."
Lovato had suffered from bipolar disorder, anorexia nervosa (binge - type) and self -harm before going into rehab for the first time at age 18. It was not enough to prevent her from relapsing into an addiction fuelled life culminating in the tragic events of July 24, 2018 when she was rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles after emergency services found her unconscious on the floor of her Hollywood home due to an opioid overdose.
Dancing with the Devil will debut on YouTube on 23 March - watch the trailer right here.
