Common got involved with 'See America', a new initiative from Allergan - it aims to put an end to preventable blindness through education, outreach and awareness in addition to product development.
He told E! News, "Blindness was always something that was kind of scary to me". The rapper temporarily lost sight in one eye when he was a teenager.
"This is something I can speak to and it really does mean something—it's one of those issues that America doesn't always pay attention to," "
"But when you're dealing with it, or someone you know is dealing with it... sight is the biggest gift we have."
