The veteran rockstar and the first black president of the USA - these unlikely partners have teamed up for the podcast series Renegades: Born in the USA.
The series will be available on Spotify and will see the former US president presenting eight-episodes together with Springsteen. Obama says he has formed a “ deep friendship" with "The Boss" since they first met on the 2008 campaign trail, the recent presidential election saw them both throwing their support behind Joe Biden.
In the series, they will discuss issues including race, fatherhood, marriage, and the divisive state of America right now.
The Swedish audio streaming and media services provider said the podcast would be "a personal, in-depth discussion between two friends exploring their pasts, their beliefs and the country that they love - as it was, as it is, and as it ought to be going forward".
In describing the series 59-year-old Obama says of 71-year-old Springsteen, “He’s a white guy from a small town in Jersey. I'm a black guy of mixed race born in Hawaii. He's a rock and roll icon. I'm... not as cool,"
