WATCH: Babes Wodumo celebrates outside court as assault charges are dropped

It was celebration time for Babes Wodumo yesterday as she did a happy dance outside the Durban Magistrate’s Court after common assault charges against her were withdrawn.

Bongekile Simelane - who's known as Babe Wodumo - appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court  along with her sister and manager Nondumiso Simalane - and fellow artist Thobeka 'Tipcee' Ndaba. The three had been accused of beating up a woman at a guesthouse in Umbilo in March - - just days after a video showing Simelane being assaulted by her producer - Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo - emerged on social media.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Natasha Kara did not go into detail about the agreement that was reached but did say "The matter or the charges against the accused were withdrawn. This is because the complainant and accused have come to some sort of resolution through ADR."
