Verne Troyer's cause of death revealed

Verne Troyer, best known for his role as Mike Myers’ sidekick 'Mini-Me' in the Austin Powers movie franchise died last April.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported Troyer's death as suicide by alcohol intoxication.

The 49-year-old actor had a blood-alcohol level above 300mg/ml, which can be fatal in some adults.

According to the coroner's report, Troyer called the paramedics to his home and during the call, he repeatedly said he wanted to die.

Prior to that time, he was hospitalised for his drinking problem, of which he admitted and followed up with a stay in rehab.

In an interview with People Magazine he said, "As you know, I’ve battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day."
