Penning an open letter to the powers that be, then putting on some public pressure can, it would seem, propel them into action.
On Monday actress Vatiswa Ndara, posted a six-page letter on social media addressed to the Minister of Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, detailing the alleged exploitation of performers in South Africa.
It has been confirmed by Ndara via her Twitter page that she was granted an audience with the minister to discuss impropriety within the acting industry.
While not much has been revealed as yet, Ndara posted an encouraging tweet about her meeting with the minister.
Just had a meeting with Minister @NathiMthethwaSA giving me an opportunity to expand on the issues raised in the Open letter. He'll respond to it in due course. He encourages SA creatives to not lose momentum and keep up the burning spirit of progress.
