US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has revealed that US lawmakers will be going ahead with the bill to ban TikTok.
McCarthy indicated that it was of grave concern that TikTok CEO, Shou Zi Chew, would not admit that China and ByteDance spied using TikTok.
On Sunday 26 March, he wrote on Twitter: “It’s very concerning that the CEO of TikTok can’t be honest and admit what we already know to be true — China has access to TikTok user data.”
He also stated that ‘’The House will be moving forward with legislation to protect Americans from the technological tentacles of the Chinese Communist Party.”
