Trevor Noah has announced that he will be donning his tennis whites and taking to the court along with ‘doubles partner’ Rafael Nadal for a charity clash against Roger Federer and Bill Gates.
It’s all going down next week Friday at the Cape Town Stadium where, according to match-in-africa.com, 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer will play his first-ever match in Sub Saharan Africa against 19-time Grand Slam Champion and rival Rafael Nadal. And it’s all in aid of the Roger Federer Foundation which supports children’s education in Africa.
An added attraction to the event is that the impressive Cape Town court has a seating capacity of more than 50 000 and is forming part of an attempt to set a new world record for the most spectators to ever watch a tennis match.
Where does our Trev fit into the picture? Together with Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, he forms part of the celebrity-pro doubles curtain-raiser. He took to Twitter to issue a friendly warning to his opponents. GoTrev!
Hey @RogerFederer, you & @billgates want to play doubles against me & @RafaelNadal!? Okay. We accept your challenge, but be prepared for the crowd in SA to be on our side! See you Feb 7 in Cape Town! Masihambe! #MatchInAfrica
