An entirely computer-generated beauty pageant has been launched by WAICA(World AI Creator Awards) in the search for the world’s first artificially generated beauty queen.
Sponsored by Fanvue, it will highlight the technical skill and work behind digital influencer personas worldwide. The competition is also part of the wider awards programme World AI Creator Awards (WAICAs) which seeks to celebrate creators at the forefront of AI.
The organisers wish to not only showcase advancements in AI technology but also reignite the classic beauty pageant format.
According to the WAIC website, the “first instalment of the WAICAs is Miss AI - where traditional beauty pageantry is crossing the world of AI creators. Contestants will be judged on their beauty, tech, and clout for the chance to earn the Miss AI crown”.
Social media know-how and influence will also play a role. Entrants will be evaluated on their online influence, with points awarded based on the number of followers and audience engagement.
The top three winning Miss AI contestants will be awarded prizes totalling over $20k, including a $5k cash prize to the winner, plus AI mentorship programmes, PR services and more courtesy of WAICA partner, Fanvue.
Winners will be announced this May 10th, with an online ceremony planned as well.
The judging panel will be made up of various experts in the field, including influential AI models Aitana Lopez and Emily Pellegrini as well as real-life judges, media guru and PR expert Andrew Bloch and beauty pageant expert Sally-Ann Fawcett.
AI Judge Aitana Lopez has more than 300,00 followers on Instagram.
