It was officially announced yesterday that the top ten Miss SA finalists will be decided by public vote. CEO for the Miss SA organisation, Stephanie Weil, announced during a live Instagram clip that the public will now be able to vote for their favourite semi-finalists and determine who makes it to the pivotal top ten round.
It’s exciting stuff and the organisers are making the most of their virtual platform to keep South Africa engaged and very much part of the process of choosing who the next Miss South Africa will be. They want the public to "be part of the journey."
You can make a date for this evening at 19:00 when reigning Miss South Africa Sasha-Lee Olivier will introduce the Miss South Africa 2020 top 15 semi-finalists live via Instagram. From there on it will be up to the public to vote for their favourite who will make up the top 10 and compete in the grand finale.
After this big reveal voting will open tomorrow, 25 June, at 09:00 and will close on 16 July at 23:00. The top 10 will be announced at the end of July. They hope that the virtual Miss SA will take place in October.
If you would like to be a part of choosing who the top ten will be, once the 15 semi-finalists have been announced, you will go to the Miss South Africa website misssa.co.za, click on the Miss South Africa 2020 tab and then choose the semi-finalist profile of your choice. This will take you to a Computicket voting link. Facilities will be available for both cash and credit card voters.
Each semi-finalist will have a voting number.
Take a look at the live announcement made by CEO Stephanie Weil yesterday. While it took a while for everyone to get linked in, it was an announcement worth waiting for as Miss SA becomes way more interactive with nothing happening 'behind closed doors anymore.'
