The explosive and gripping book, The President’s Keepers, is making its way to the small screen. In addition to this, the book’s publisher, Tafelberg, has just announced that it is now also the top selling book in South African history if ebook sales are taken into account.
Written by investigative journalist, Jacques Pauw, it will be no mean task to bring this controversial novel to life. The man at the helm of this project is South African film maker Niel van Deventer. And of course, the question on everyone’s lips, who will be the actor to take on the role of our disgraced former president Jacob Zuma? According to TshiaLIVE, Neil is in talks with an international actor to play the part. This might not please many a South African actor but it would be a great marketing draw card from a global perspective.
The television series is apparently still in the developmental and planning stages but it is hoped that it will hit our TV screens next year. Jacques Pauw told TshiaLIVE that his role would be that of a consultant. The series is expected to run for three seasons with six episodes per season.
