With just days to go before what is expected to be the fairy tale wedding of the decade, there is ‘trouble in paradise’.
Yesterday US media reported that Meghan Markle’s father would not be attending the wedding anymore. Kensington Palace, without confirming whether or not this was true, were then quick to release a statement asking for “understanding and respect” for the couple during what they described as a “difficult situation”.
With public scrutiny and media attention at a frenzy, it appears that Thomas Marckle has pulled out of walking his daughter down the aisle because he does not want to embarrass her. So, why the change of heart Thomas?

Reports have surfaced of 73 year old Thomas Markle having colluded with a paparazzi photographer to stage a series of pictures in the run-up to the wedding. The images include him being measured for his wedding attire and sitting in an internet café looking at pictures of the happy couple online.
Thomas is said to be blaming himself for the embarrassment he has subsequently caused his daughter and the Royal Family. The pictures are said to have sold for around about 1.3 million rand. He has insisted that it was not about money, but that he had been somewhat distraught at previous photographs of himself having surfaced looking unkempt, overweight and dishevelled. He said he just wanted to ‘rehabilitate’ his image. Thomas says the papparazzi agency approached him, he now deeply regrets his decision and agrees that the pictures look extremely ‘hammy’ and following on this, he wishes to spare his daughter any further embarrassment by not attending the nuptials.
Website TMZ have claimed that the former lighting director who lives a reclusive life in Mexico and has yet to meet his future son-in-law – confirmed he had been offered money by US-based freelance photographer Jeff Rayner. According to the Daily Mail,Thomas Marckle has suffered a heart attack in recent days.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland is said to have arrived in London to assist with the last minute preparations.
