South African boxing legend Dingaan Thobela has died at the age of 57. Thobela was reported to have been found dead in his flat in Johannesburg on Monday night, it is believed he had been battling an undisclosed illness.
Tributes have been pouring in from the South African sports community for the two-weight world champion affectionately known as “The Rose of Soweto.’
The South African government was among the first to take to the social media platform X to pay tribute to the legendary boxer.
