The remarkable Dr Jane Goodall turns 90  - now that’s worth celebrating!

As another trip around the sun sees Goodall marking 90 years on planet Earth, the tireless living legend shows no signs of slowing down.

The inspiring clip below sums up the spirit and drive of the iconic Goodall who is still travelling around the globe 300 days a year to encourage all of us who inhabit this planet we call home, to play our part.

And if you are wondering if Goodall has any health tips on longevity: she adopted a plant-based diet in 2015, after being a vegetarian for many years.

Goodall has said in many an interview that once she realised the ethical implications of animal agriculture, the immense suffering of animals raised for food, and the environmental damage caused by industrial farming, she decided to become a vegan . She believes that a plant-based diet not only promotes animal welfare and protects the planet, but also plays a key role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Pictured in the post below is a 100 per cent vegan cake made by Cape Town's famous Charly's Bakery to celebrate and pay tribute to Jane on her 90th birthday.

Hers has been a life of service  - and for that, we thank her,  salute her, and wish her a happy 90th birthday! Thank you Jane for striving to make this planet a better place for mankind in every which way.

“[I wish] everybody understood that every day they live on the planet, they make some impact. And they can choose the kind of impact they make, if they think about what they buy, what they wear, the way they interact with people and with animals.” Dr Jane Goodall.
