The lighter side of the incomparable late Queen of England

A still image from the now famous Paddington Bear skit

Queen Elizabeth II was arguably the greatest monarch to have graced the world stage, and in the wake of her peaceful but unexpected death at Balmoral, the tributes and accolades pouring in are testaments to the legacy she leaves behind.

As her life is relived on screens across the world following her passing, highlights will no doubt include those times when Queen Elizabeth was given the opportunity to show her humorous side.

Two of those cameo moments were her appearance at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics alongside  Daniel Craig’s James Bond, and her skit with Paddington Bear in the Palace for the recent 2022  Platinum Jubilee Celebration.

The now famous Paddington Bear skit.

Mention must also be made of the Queen being applauded during her reign by animal rights group PETA for ditching her real fur for fake fur. Taking to Twitter the organization said on her passing: "At PETA, we remember Queen Elizabeth II for evolving with the times and choosing kindness over cruelty by banishing fur from her wardrobe. We hope King Charles will honor her legacy by ordering faux fur for royal guards' caps fit soon".

Her unwavering loyalty and service to her country were quite remarkable. Whilst the country goes into a period of national mourning, preparations are also underway for the nation to welcome their new king, King Charles III.

May you RIP Queen Elizabeth.
