The Art Museum's Exciting Fashion Exhibition

The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum has been unable to purchase South African artwork, since 2010, so the Friends of the Art Museum have decided to host a Gala Event, to not only raise sorely-needed funds, but equally important: to showcase the designs of local Crafters, Fashion Designers and Ballerinas... a Fusion of the Creative Space, right here in Nelson Mandela Bay!

Thursday, 27 September 2018 sees the Art Museum put on its best to play host and hostess to an audience of fashionably-attired Guests, offering a preview of the Art Museum's exciting fashion exhibition looking at the influence of traditional style in contemporary Fashion, a sit down Dinner, a runway show and... an opportunity to support the continuation of the Arts, in our Metro!

Former PE girl… and now established Fashion Designer, on both the local and global stage: Jenni Button has agreed to fly in and showcase a collection, ably supported by three of the city’s innovative Designers: Ati Setipa, Braemor Lundall-Sauls and Kelly Dillon. Selected Local Fashion items will be profiled on the fashion exhibition including work by the knitwear designer, Laduma Ngxokolo, who is a rising star in the international fashion scene.

Another former PE girl, who is currently Editor in Chief of ELLE Decoration, Leigh Robertson, is also flying in for this Gala event, as is Khanyi Dhlomo, CEO of Ndalo Media, who has ELLE and ELLE Decoration within the Ndalo stable has excitedly agreed to partner in the Fundraiser!

Adrian Gardiner, who heads up the Mantis Collection, has confirmed that the Group will be the Naming Sponsor for the said event, thus committing to support local art as an alignment with No 5 by Mantis, itself a veritable Collection of incredible South African artwork!

Booking is essential, for this limited seating event and Michelle Brown of Brown’s PR will manage this, along with the co-ordination of the Function.

Magnetic Storm will co-sponsor the A/V and Technical aspect of the Gala, whilst Mohair SA will host a workshop, the following morning, with Jenni Button sharing her extensive knowledge and experience with young Designers... apropo the management of a Design Atelier.
