Taylor Swift keeps in touch with her 'squad' members Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and Hailee Steinfeld via a group chat on messaging service WhatsApp.The Shake It Off hitmaker is known for having a group of famous gal pals she is close to, including Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, and Ruby Rose, and Steinfeld reveals they all like to stay in contact through a big group text.During an interview on Britain's BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday (05Oct16), the 19-year-old singer/actress said, "We try to (speak a lot). It's so crazy being all over the world at the same time and rarely being in the same place at the same time.
But it's so much fun to stay in contact and find each other along the way and all get caught up."Social media also helps the girls keep track of what everyone is up to, and when they do get the opportunity to meet up, it's typically at awards shows or special events - and it's always a dressy affair."When we are all together it does feel like a big reunion, and it normally happens to be when we are all dressed up and look a lot nicer than we normally do, so it looks a lot cooler than it is," Hailee laughed.
The True Grit star admits she enjoys having close friends in the same industry because they all understand the pressures of fame."It's nice to have people that get what it is that you're doing," she continued. "I went through a period of time when some of my friends didn't understand that what I was doing was more important than calling them back. So it's nice to now have someone that understands and does the same thing that you're doing."Meanwhile, Swift has proved she is also a fan of Apple's FaceTime app after using the video calling service to 'join' model/actress Cara Delevingne and Dakota Johnson on Tuesday (04Oct16) as the Fifty Shades of Grey star celebrated her 27th birthday.
Delevingne shared a snap of herself with Dakota and Taylor, whose smiling image could be seen on Cara's cell phone, and captioned the photo, "Happy birthday @dakotajohnson #facetimefamilyphoto (sic)".The image was posted on Instagram on the same day Demi Lovato publicly criticised Swift and her skinny 'squad' in America's Glamour magazine, claiming the group promotes a "false image" of what women should look like.
