On America’s National Coming out Day, October 11, it was announced that Superman will come out as bisexual in new issues of the DC comic book.
The latest storyline and incarnation of Superman will see Jon Kent - the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane - follow in his father's footsteps and, not only save the world but also fall for a reporter.
The reporter’s name is Jay Nakamura, and what starts out as a friendship between the two of them, quickly blossoms into a romantic liaison.
Although he is not the first LGBTQ+ comic book hero, there is no doubt that Superman coming out will garner a great deal of global attention.
You can get your copy of the comic, which will feature the two men sharing a kiss, from digital retailers and your favorite comic book shop as of next month.
