Ster-Kinekor to open doors again August 28

Cinema lovers save the date, Friday, August 28, that's when Ster-Kinekor say they cannot wait to welcome you back to their cinemas! And they are all geared up to make great memories with you and your family once again while observing strict safety protocols.

As stated on their website, the health and well-being of their guests, employees and community is of paramount importance to them and they have therefore had to implement some important changes to the way that they do business. They have asked for our “support to ensure a safe movie-going experience” by adhering to the following regulations now in place :

To limit contact no transactions will take place in cinema. Please book your movie tickets and snacks through the Ster-Kinekor App or on our website. You will be sent a confirmation email which you can print out or save onto your smartphone.

We’ve introduced self-scan entries so you can scan your confirmation email to gain admission before heading to the auditorium.

All guests will be required to purchase their snacks online. Your confirmation email will be scanned at the concessions counter for collection.

Follow distance markers.

Sanitize hands when entering the cinema.

Wear your mask in the cinema foyer. You may remove it while seated in the cinema auditorium to enjoy your favourite snacks.

Always practice good hygiene and wash hands frequent

After the show, please take your popcorn bag & cup with you and discard in dustbins placed in the cinema foyer.

Cover coughs/sneezes, dispose of tissues and make use of the available hand sanitizer.

Refrain from attending the cinema if feeling unwell.

You are required to undergo temperature screening before entering the cinema.

A minimum of 1.5M social distancing will be implemented across all areas within the cinema. Hand sanitizer stations will be placed in strategic areas in the cinema for guests and employees.

Tickets and snacks will be only available to book in advance on our website and app. You may also phone our Ticket Line on 0861 MOVIES (0861 668 437) for assistance.

A confirmation email with a barcode will be sent to you after you have booked your ticket(s) and snacks online. The ticket will be scanned at the entrance of the cinema.
You may collect your online pre-ordered snacks from the concession counter.

The maximum occupancy in each cinema will be limited as per government regulations to ensure safe social distancing whilst enjoying the movie. We will ensure that some seats and rows in the theatre are blocked and are not utilized to maintain safe social distancing.

We’ve adapted our screening schedule so that movies are more spread out across the day meaning fewer guests in the foyer at any one time.
