The first time showing of his latest movie at the Sundance Film Festival has earned South African filmmaker Gavin Hood a standing ovation.
With one Oscar already on the shelf for Tsotsi, here’s hoping that he has another hit on his hands. The movie is called Official Secrets and it boasts an incredibly strong ensemble cast in the form of Keira Knightly, Ralph Fiennes, Matthew Good and Matthew Smith.
Based on the book The Spy Who Tried to Stop a War, Official Secrets tells the true story of British Intelligence operative Katharine Gun (Knightley) and the professional and personal fallout from her decision to leak a highly classified internal memo.
The festival awards will be handed out on the 3rd of February in Park City, Utah. If the over 1 000 movie enthusiasts who rose to their feet at the movies first screening on Monday is anything to go by, it looks like Gavin Hood could have another huge success on his hands.
Take a look at the cast and characters featured in what promises to be a movie that distributors at the Festival are going to want to buy.
