This past Sunday, November 3, 2024, South Africa marked the 30th anniversary of the South African Music Awards. The night paid tribute not only to three decades of South African music but was also a standout moment for local fashion. Held at Gallagher Convention Centre, the event embraced a "Proudly South African" theme, celebrating the country’s rich musical heritage and vibrant style culture.
Stars came dressed to impress, wearing designs from top South African designers like Naked Ape, Imprint, and Otiz Seflo. The red carpet was a colorful spectacle, with icons like Sophie Ndaba, Anele Zondo, Busiswa, Arthur Mafokate, Bucie, and Ringo Madlingozi showing up in looks that honored their South African roots with bold colors, intricate patterns, and skillful craftsmanship. African Fashion International (AFI), one of the event sponsors, also dressed several attendees, highlighting the strength and creativity of local design.
Here are some of the standout looks from the night:
1. Luthando "LootLove" Shosha
