Renowned South African designer Carrol Boyes has died, her assistant Michele Stuurman confirmed on Thursday.
Boyes, 65, died on Wednesday night after a short illness.
She created a distinctive brand of cutlery and flatware, later branching out into home fabrics that attracted an international clientele and is sold in 30 countries.
Boyes is the creator and CEO of the The Carrol Boyes (Pty) Ltd retailer in Cape Town which was established in 1991. The fine arts graduate built a brand that is recognised globally, for its unique style and beautiful designs in home decor.
