Source says Meghan's dad 'faked his heart attack'

Just when the Thomas Markle-royal family drama couldn’t get any more dramatic, it does: the latest twist, reported by Daily Mail, is that Meghan Markle’s father faked his heart surgery as an excuse not to attend her wedding and also make the public pity him. A source close to Meghan told the outlet that "the whole story about Meghan's father undergoing heart surgery was made up. He had to come up with a good enough reason not to attend her wedding and avoid any further embarrassment after those staged photos went public."

"The poor health story was his way of generating some compassion from the public, and taking the attention off those staged photos which were a complete embarrassment to Meghan and the royal family," the source continued. "Of course Meghan is upset with him. Her father missed her wedding. He missed walking her down the aisle all because of that ill-conceived publicity stunt." (Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, meanwhile, attended and has never given a press interview.)

Before this reveal, the Daily Mail was pushing "evidence" that Thomas’s heart condition wasn't as grave as he made it out to be by publishing photos of him getting fast food two days after his supposed heart surgery.

Additionally, Daily Mail claims they reached out to Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, where Thomas said he was admitted for his procedure, for confirmation of his May 16th visit. The hospital told them that "no such name" had ever checked in there.

Meghan has released one statement on the Thomas Markle drama ahead of her wedding. "Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding," she said. "I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health. I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday." Since, she and the royal family have been silent. Thomas aired out his frustrations about their cold shoulder in multiple interviews over the last couple days.

Meanwhile, a source told Entertainment Tonight the obvious: that Meghan and Harry "are frustrated he keeps speaking to the tabloids and taking payment for interviews."

Thomas has not spoken out about the rumour that he faked his heart attack yet, but if it spreads, given his history, there’s a good chance he will call up TMZ to try to explain it away
