Seventy one year old mega star, Sir Elton John, never goes on a bender anymore for fear of having his pic taken by someone on their mobile phone. He admitted to the Daily Mail that in his younger days he went to many a show biz party where outrageous behaviour was the order of the day. However, since the advent of mobile phones and social media, Sir Elton has revealed he no longer goes on riotous nights out for fear of having his behaviour documented.
He said he 'hates' mobile phones as they mean one no longer has any privacy when out in public. He added that he used to have it 'so easy' and was able to behave 'extraordinarily badly' in public and get away with it as there were no mobile phones and no paparazzi. As a consequence he does not go out anymore.
Sir Elton announced earlier this year that he is retiring from touring to dedicate more time to raising his sons Zachary, seven, and Elijah, five. He will mark the end of his touring career with an impressive 300 performance dates over three years. Sir Elton, who married David Furnish in 2005, also insisted that although he was retiring from touring he would not stop making music. He also recently told the media that he is working on a new musical with former Scissors frontman, Jake Shears.
