Sixteen-year-old Charli D'Amelio has become the first TikTok star to amass over 100 million followers on the popular social media app.
The US teenager, who hails from Connecticut, has only been on the app for a year and a half.
She began posting dance videos in May of 2019 and just two months later her first video had gone viral. D’Amelio was previously a competitive dancer.
D’Amelio often features her family in her videos, her older sister Dixie D’Amelio is also a TikTok star,
Her almost instant rise to fame has seen her enjoy many lucrative sponsorship deals, commercial TV appearances and she was recently asked to be the face of Hollister together with her sister. Hollister is a global teen and young adult retail brand owned by Abercrombie & Fitch C, goods are available in-store and through the company's online platform
D'Amelio's many deals are said to be worth millions – she is undoubtedly the most famous teen in America right now.
An overcome D’Amelia responded to the news by saying: "I cannot believe there are 100 million supporters following me right now.”
