The collab was a result of Gatya’s Zulu verse on John Legend’s Nervous as part of the TikTok #Openversechallenge. The video got Legend’s stamp of approval and other tweeps talking, making Gatya internet famous.

With Legend being in the country he invited the local musician to join him onstage and perform his single live at the Sun Arena on Friday, September 23.
Upon meeting the US hitmaker, Gatya shared a video on Instagram with the caption, "A moment I’ll never forget, I’m really grateful" - sharing his gratitude to Legend who made the collab possible and all of his fans for their support.
