Ryan Reynolds will play the unlikely character choice, Pikachu in the upcoming Rob Letterman film, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.
The trailer of the film introduces us all to the Pokémon Universe, in which a failed Pokémon Trainer, Tim Goodman searches for his father, a prominent detective who goes missing in a car crash.
As he searches for his father he meets Detective Pikachu, who just happens to be his father's former partner.
The plot thickens when the two realise that they understand one another.
Ryan Reynolds recently tweeted about the movie and shared the trailer to the movie.
In the tweet, Reynolds says, " I think we all knew I'd wind up as a miniature detective repeatedly saying the same two words. Just didn't think it'd be this soon."

The movie is set to screen in May 2019.
