Remembering the bright light that was Nightbirde

Nightbirdie

Since news broke of the death of America’s Got Talent star Jane Marczewski, social media has gone into overdrive as fans and followers pay tribute to the 31-year-old who passed away Sunday after battling cancer for more than five years.

Nightbirde, as she was known in the industry, competed on the 16th season of America’s Got Talent, her outstanding performance leading a visibly moved Simon Cowell to issue her the Golden Buzzer, giving her a ticket straight to the live shows.

She was sadly forced to drop out of the GT finals after sharing the news that her health had deteriorated, but by then she had already become a social media sensation. Not only because of her immense talent but because of her indomitable spirit, her sense of humor, and her refusal to wallow in any form of self-pity.

In a statement to The Sun, her devastated sister Katelyn Marczewski perhaps best sums up the essence of who Nightbirde was, saying," she leaves behind a legacy of hope and strength that came from her faith in Jesus."

"Her life was nothing close to easy, but she lived it with true joy and strength."

"Jane truly understood the beauty of life and the importance of living each day as it is given to us".

"We can’t always change our circumstances, but in the words of Jane, we are worth more than the bad things that happen to us."

May you RIP Nightbirde.
