Rachel Kolisi updates fans on her covid recovery progress

Rachel Kolisi together with husband Siya Kolisi

The vivacious Rachel Kolisi, who is usually bounding around with plenty of energy, has informed her fans via social media that she has just finished 14 days in isolation to recover from the coronavirus. The usual period for isolation is ten but she says that she decided to do 14 as she” didn’t feel ready to be out yet so did a few more days”.

On December 27th 2019 Rachel announced via Instagram that she had contracted the virus saying:  “I never had a fever, no sore throat, no coughing. I actually spent the day in the pool and assumed I had a sinus infection. I realized I couldn’t smell anything so went straight into isolation until I received my positive result”.

“it’s been so rough and scary at times especially when you have small kids who don’t understand why they can’t touch you. My heart breaks for those in hospital having to fight this alone, not knowing if they’ll see their loved ones again.
Equally, my heart breaks for the healthcare workers working tirelessly and understaffed while others are not taking the safety precautions seriously at all”.

Her latest post states that after 14 days in isolation,” My taste and smell are slowly returning but definitely not there yet. My throat is sore, I still sound like I have sinus, and I still run out of breath really quickly but the pain in my chest starting easing up on day 10 ????????  BUT. We tested the whole family to make sure everyone was healthy and safe Liphelo (13) and Keziah (3) tested positive. The virus - I don’t know what strain of it - but Covid is definitely affecting kids too. Liphelo has had full-on adult symptoms and it’s been rough. Keziah, praise the Lord didn’t seem to have any symptoms at all and is her usual happy self, the advice we have received is that kids under 13years can’t transfer the virus.”

We wish you and your family a speedy recovery back to perfect health.
