54-year old R Kelly has been found guilty of racketeering and trafficking in his sex abuse trial in Brooklyn, New York.
For more than two decades the R&B singer has faced allegations of sexual abuse. The stories are many and date back to the start of his career in the 1990s with plenty of them centering around his alleged predatory pursuit of young girls. Many will now be asking why it took so long for justice to be served.
A jury of seven men and five women found Kelly guilty on all counts after just two days of deliberations. The former superstar has maintained his innocence throughout, pleading not guilty to all the charges against him. Kelly, whose face was shielded by a white mask, kept his head down as the verdict was read.
He faces up to 20 years in prison and is due to be sentenced on 4 May 2022.
