Pearl Thusi announced to Africa, on her Twitter account that she will be starring in the very first African Netflix original.
The South African actress made the announcement on Monday, addressing her fans not only in South Africa but also in Africa.
She thanked Netflix and stated that this first for Africa, will change "the game for every artist on the continent".

Pearl will be playing the title role in the African Netflix original, Queen Sono.
The series follows the story of Queen Sono, a professional top Spy in a South African Agency.
Following Pearl's announcement, Netflix replied to her tweet saying, "That’s right! A Netflix first for Africa. Pearl Thusi as #QueenSono coming to your screens in 2019."
