The 76-year-old frontman and founder of the band died at his home over the weekend after a battle with cancer.
The English singer-songwriter and pianist was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2003 Queen's Birthday Honours in recognition of his charitable services.
His former bandmates released a statement saying, “He lit up any room he entered, and his kindness to a multilingual family of fans was legendary.”
Ringo Starr was just one of a slew of celebrities who took to social media to pay tribute saying, "God bless Gary Brooker peace and love to the family.”

The band, formed in 1967, will always be remembered for their hit single A Whiter Shade of Pale, one of the few singles to have sold over a million copies. In 2018, the band was honored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when A Whiter Shade of Pale was inducted into the new Singles category.
