Prince Harry criticised for Netflix deal

Emma Corrin plays Lady Diana in the hit series

The show's fourth season, which premiered on Netflix over a week ago, introduces Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) for the first time and highlights the immense desperation she felt during her marriage to  Prince Charles (Josh O'Connor). It also shows, quite graphically, Diana's struggle with bulimia.

The royal family, in particular, Prince Charles and Camilla, are said to be extremely upset by their portrayal in the series. Lady Diana’s brother, Charles Spenser has expressed his displeasure by speaking to various media outlets saying that people need to remember it is fiction loosely based on fact.

Meanwhile, in the USA, Prince Harry has remained tight-lipped about this fourth season which has his beloved mother as its pivotal character. Needless to say one can only surmise that it has to do with the fact that he and Meghan Markle have signed a lucrative deal with Netflix to produce documentaries, films, and scripted series for the streaming giant.

Good Morning Britain host, Piers Morgan, who has been extremely vocal about his dislike for both Harry and Meghan was quoted as saying that their decision to work with Netflix is hypocritical.

After binge-watching the latest instalment of The Crown, he put pen to paper and in a scathing article for the Mail Online wrote:” How can hypocrite Harry complain about how the press treated his mother but sell his soul for millions to Netflix sharks who've portrayed her as a shallow, vomiting lunatic and his father as a bullying, bed-hopping monster?”

He closed the piece by saying, “Instead, Harry will keep the Netflix millions and by doing so, he is giving his own tacit royal seal of approval to the company exploiting and trashing his family.”

“Shame on him.”
