Since Devi Sankaree resigned from Carte Blanche in January of this year, she has been sorely missed by her legions of fans on a Sunday night. She said of her resignation at the time that Carte Blanche was like family to her but she needed to explore new opportunities – it looks likes she has found that new opportunity.
Fans can soon tune in to her new show simply titled, ‘Devi’, it will air on two local channels every Friday night and will premiere on eTV at 6.30 pm and eNCA at 8.30 pm.
The eMedia group made the announcement on Monday saying, “eMedia Investments is proud to announce that one of South Africa's most respected and loved television icons, Devi Sankaree Govender, has found a new broadcast home.”
Of the show, Devi herself said, "The Covid-19 pandemic has created panic and negativity. This show isn't going to add to the gloom. Instead, my team and I are creating 30 minutes of in your face Friday night television. You will be outraged. You will laugh. You will be inspired while we keep it very real."
According to the group, Devi is also working on other projects within the eMedia organisation.
Devi issued a personal invitation via her Facebook page for her fans to join her in this new journey saying' " THAT new #TV adventure is a few days away from loading ...Your #Friday #SpicedUp This is your personal invite to walk this journey with me ...e.tv 18:30 eNCA news20:30"
We wish you the best of luck Devi!
