Olivia Newton-John to receive state memorial service

John Easterling and Olivia Newton-John

Australians will get the chance to publicly mourn their beloved Olivia Newton-John after her family accepted an offer of a state memorial service from their country’s government.

Daily Mail reports that Newton-John's niece Tottie Goldsmith accepted the offer on the family's behalf Thursday morning. A venue and date for the service have yet to be revealed but it is thought that there are plans for the tribute to be more of a concert than a formal service.

Newton-John lost her decades-long battle with cancer on Monday morning passing away at the age of  73 at her home in southern California surrounded by family and friends. Her husband John Easterling announced her death on her Facebook page.
