Nsync receives a Walk of Fame Star on "It's Gonna Be May" Day

Nsync members Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake will reunite today to receive the honour of the 2,636th star in the category of Recording on the Walk of Fame.

Nsync joins other boy bands like Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, New Kids On the Block, and New Edition.

Lance Bass who has been really active on social media lately, tweeted the following about it.

“How fitting this ceremony will take place on Its Gonna Be May Day! See y’all there! *NSYNC to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

How did the meme it's 'Gonna Be May' start?

Back in 2000 NSYNC released the smash hit song “It’s Gonna Be Me.” The line "it's gonna be me" is done by Timberlake who enunciates it with a distinctive twang, turning the final “me” into “May.”

But it wasn’t until 2012 that the tune took on a whole new meaning. Internet users created a meme of the line, and the rest as they say is history.

Since 2012, many have sent out reminders of the change from April to May, including former USA president, Barack Obama.

Even Justin Timberlake has held on to the tradition by tweeting annually,

And in 2018, he still can't escape it, but it's all just for a laugh. Good times!
