Called Shamwari Untamed, the 13-part series is told from the perspective of wildlife vet, Johan Joubert, and ecologist John O’Brien. This is your chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to manage a 250km2 private game reserve.
Orphaned rhino calves, sick leopards, clever hippos, and reluctant giraffes are just some of the day-to-day issues the Shamwari conservation team has to handle on a daily basis, including the difficult, life-and-death decisions on when to interfere and when to let nature take its course.
Says Joe Cloete, Shamwari CEO: “It is the most accurate, insightful, and authentic depiction of the incredible work conservation team does, and now that it’s on Netflix people around the world with an interest in conservation will be able to see what goes into making a project such as Shamwari succeed.”
