Nelly Furtado making a comeback

The 37-year-old singer revealed the release date and artwork for her new album, which will be officially released on 31 March 2017.

She has released two singles from her new album, Pipe dreams being the most recent. Furtado describes her new single as “The false hope of dreaming even when you want to live in a fantasy”.

The album, The Ride, will feature 12 songs and she has described the sound as modern pop-alternative.

In an interview with i-D she said, “I write pop melodies, I’ve always written pop melodies. But [producer] John Congleton forces me to dig a little deeper and make sure that I’m coming correct with the lyrics. I was also in a really cool phase in my life where I was going through a difficult time of transition and that helped lyrically. I just had so much to write about. I think I grew as a songwriter on this album.”
