Natalie Portman's son Aleph is her 'main miracle in life'

Natalie Portman considers her family "good luck charms in life".The 35-year-old actress is mother to five-year-old son Aleph with husband Benjamin Millepied and is thought to be pregnant with her second child, although she has yet to officially confirm the happy news. Aleph served as something of a good luck charm for Natalie as she was pregnant when she took home the Best Actress Oscar in 2011 for Black Swan and, amid the pregnancy rumours, Entertainment Tonight asked the actress if she thinks her offspring may bring her luck during next year's (17) awards season. "I think they're good luck charms in life," she told Entertainment Tonight.

"They're the best things. The best main miracles. I don't necessarily connect it (to winning an Oscar). But it is certainly a joy."Natalie stars as former First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the upcoming film, which also stars Peter Sarsgaard, John Hurt, Richard E. Grant and Billy Crudup and tells the story of Jackie following John F. Kennedy's assassination.While the movie has yet to be officially released, it has already been tipped for victory during awards season, which Natalie is enormously flattered by.

"It's obviously flattering to have positive response to the film because that's what you want when you're making a film is to have audiences relate to something emotionally and be moved by it and (have it) connect with people," she said. "That's what you dream about when you're making something."

Despite being one of the world's most famous actresses, Natalie does her utmost to keep her family life as private as possible - in the same way that Jackie did. And this desire to separate her career and the concept of celebrity is something that enabled Natalie to relate more to the role. "People don't understand what fame is until they live it and it's a very different experience of course than what it seems like from the outside," she added.
