British Supermodel Naomi Campbell is celebrating becoming a first-time mom to a daughter at the age of 50.
Posting the news on Instagram, she captioned a picture of a close-up of her hand cradling a pair of baby feet, "A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother. So honored [sic] to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you, my angel. There is no greater love."
Mystery surrounds the method of conception and who the father might be. Campbell has also yet to reveal the name of her daughter.
She has never met her own biological father and is said to regard Tunisian fashion designer Azzedine AlaIïa, whom she met at 16, as her "papa. The famous supermodel has never been married and has always been extremely private about her personal relationships. Former South African president, the late Nelson Mandela, formed a strong bond with the supermodel after first meeting her in 1994 and came to refer to her as his "honorary granddaughter."
Congratulations Ms Campbell!
