South Africans have been urged to vote for local beauty, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, in the 2017 Miss Universe pageant, which takes place in the US at the weekend.
“South Africans are encouraged to vote for Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters ahead of the competition which takes place at The Axis in Las Vegas on Sunday,” said her sponsors in a statement on Tuesday.
There are two ways of voting online. South Africans can either go to; Vote.MissUniverse.com or on Twitter at; #MissUniverse #SouthAfrica (retweets count).
The statement said voters can vote 10 times a day. Pre-voting is open until Saturday, 25 November.
“There will also be a vote, during the live broadcast, for each round of the competition. The voting windows will happen during the actual competition so fans need to be ready to cast their ballot.”
