This past Saturday was a day of great sadness for SA as three of our shining talents in the entertainment industry lost their lives on our roads. TV presenter and producer Akhumzi Jezile, singer Siyasanga Kobese and actor Thobani Mseleni, all lost their lives on Saturday morning when the car they were travelling in collided with another vehicle near Queenstown in the Eastern Cape. There were no survivors. Details of the accident are still sketchy, investigations are currently ongoing.
With the families of the deceased and the nation still in deep mourning over this senseless loss of lives, preparations for the final farewell of Akhumzi Jezile have been released to the media.
A memorial service will take place this Thursday the 3rd of May at 2pm at the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg, while the funeral service will be held this Saturday the 5th of May at 9 am, also at the Rhema Bible Church. The memorial service has been arranged by Urban Brew Studios, for whom Akhumzi worked.
The family has thanked the public for their incredible outpouring of love but has also asked that they be granted some space at this sad time as they grapple to come to terms with the loss of their loved one.
